WEEK 13: FINAL ASSIGNMENT PROGRESS 3

Following my storyboard sketches, I completed the animation. I did not know what to do for most of the transitions so most of them are only fade ins and outs. I was advised on how to make the animations more dynamic and to use some elements from the second assignment.  I also wrote the storyboard down for the text that I wanted to put inside the animation: Opening Scene (0-5 seconds): Fade in with falling stars bg and twinkling glitter bg Text appears: "Welcome to" "Caraval" (with the design being the one referenced to the actual book) Magical Invitation (5-10 seconds): An invitation floats on screen, opening to reveal: "An unforgettable adventure awaits." Ticket floats up and down  Characters Introduction (10-15 seconds): Two characters appear in the middle Characters split left and right to reveal text Text: "Two sisters seeking escape..." Enchanting Caraval (15-20 seconds): Merry-go-round and carnival tent comes in Text: "...enter a worl...

WEEK 9: ASSIGNMENT 2 PROGRESS

After putting the graphics from Illustrator, I proceeded to animate it. Thankfully, I did not encounter any issues with animating as it was quite straightforward. After another consultation, I was advised to: 1. Put a background to the title so that it did not look as if it appeared from thin air. 2. To dim the other horses at the back as to further create a focus and differentiate between all the horses. Adding a background to the title Dimming the horses to create depth MUSIC For music I picked the song Carousel by Melanie Martinez. The title of the song was fitting for the book as well as it being featured by the author as one of the music in the official playlist of the book. WEEK 8: ASSIGNMENT 2 PROPOSAL

Image
For assignment 2, we are required to choose a book to make an animated poster. The book I have chosen is Caraval by Stephanie Garber as it is one of my favourite books.  Synopsis Scarlett Dragna has never left the tiny island where she and her sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval—the faraway, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show—are over. But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner. Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. Nevertheless she becomes enmeshed in a game of love...

ASSIGNMENT 1: BRING TO LIFE

Image
In this assignment, we are required to create a simple typography animation using our initials that is around 5 - 10 seconds long.  Trial 1 During my first run of the assignment, I used my first name and surname to create the animation. I did not have a sketch at first as I thought I could do well without one. But as I continued, I realised I had no direction of where I wanted the animation to go. I had a vision in mind and just looked up for a tutorial on what I wanted to do. The first rendition Trial 2 After my first consultation, I realised that I was required to only use my initials. After my first trial I have decided to do a sketch beforehand. This helped me to further ease my process when creating the animation.                                                                             ...
